However, according to the Indian government, two LPG carriers from the UAE and a crude oil tanker from Saudi Arabia are moving towards Indian ports. In view of this crisis, Navy Chief Dinesh Tripathi has decided to cancel his official visit to Australia and New Zealand and monitor the operation.

Pine Gas' and 'Jag Vasant' leave with 92,000 tonnes of LPG Special Secretary in the Ministry of Shipping Rajesh Kumar Sinha said that two Indian-flagged ships 'Jag Vasant' and 'Pine Gas' left the UAE ports on Monday morning. Both the ships have a total of 92,000 tonnes of LPG on board.
Jag Vasant: Likely to reach Kandla Port (Gujarat) by March 26. Pine Gas: May reach New Mangalore Port by March 28. Iran has allowed both these ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz and Indian Navy warships are providing them with continuous security cover.
MT Kallista’ is coming from Saudi Arabia In addition to LPG, a tanker named ‘MT Kallista’ will leave for India’s Paradip port via Jeddah on Tuesday, loaded with crude oil from the Yanbu port of Saudi Arabia. The ship will pass through the Gulf of Aden, where the Indian Navy’s ‘Kolkata-class’ destroyers have been deployed for its protection.
No fee paid to Iran: Government clarification There were rumors on social media that India has paid a fee of $2 million to Iran for passing ships through Hormuz. However, the Iranian embassy in India has denied these reports. India has not paid any 'toll tax' for its ships. Currently, a total of about 500 tankers are stranded in the Strait of Hormuz, out of which Iran is allowing only selected ships to pass after verification.
